Perry County Health System Skeet Shoot a Success

Perry County Health System Children’s Healthcare Fund’s Annual Skeet Shoot was once again a success.  At the end of September, nine corporate teams and numerous other sponsors supported the Fund’s Fourth Annual Skeet Shoot.  Due to this, the Children’s Healthcare Fund raised just under $17,000 to donate to children in Perry County with extensive healthcare needs.  Since the Fund was established in 2012, Perry County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) has been able to make 21 donations to families in Perry County totaling $26,500.

“We can’t thank our supporters enough for their participation, dedication, and generosity to the Children’s Healthcare Fund,” stated Patrick Carron, President/CEO of Perry County Health System (PCHS).  “When a child is suffering from an illness or disability, the family often faces significant financial strain.  The goal of the Fund is to ease that strain so the family can focus more so on supporting their child.”

Frank Robinson and the Robinson Construction crew continue to partner with PCMH on the Skeet Shoot event as well.  “Thank you doesn’t quite seem to encompass our gratitude to Robinson Construction for all that they do prior to and during the event.  They play a vital role in the success of the event.  We are grateful to have them as a partner in our fundraiser for the Children’s Healthcare Fund,” stated Carron.  In addition, each sponsor and participant plays an important role too.  “The generosity of the many organizations and individuals involved is touching,” Carron emphasized.

At the PCHS Skeet Shoot, the participants were treated to a day of skeet shooting, a delicious meal provided by Mary Jane Burgers & Brew, and competitive shooting games.  For the Skeet Shoot competition, first place was awarded to Richardet Floor Covering, second place to PCMH, and third place to ARCO Construction.  For the Flag Competition, ARCO Construction took home the prize with the highest score.  Additionally, the top individual score went to Mark Taylor who competed on the Robinson Construction team.

A Fun Shoot was also coordinated to entertain shooters throughout the day.  With five different events using four different types of guns and a crossbow, the participants had a great time testing their marksmanship.  The top team, TG Missouri, was awarded prizes for their skills.  A Poker Shoot was added to the day’s events as well.  Independence Health System took home the prize in this competition.

The funds from the 2015 Skeet Shoot will be distributed in late spring of 2016.  Requests for support from the Perry County Health System Children’s Healthcare Fund can be made by calling Karla Versemann, Cora Gremaud, or Patrick Carron at PCMH, 573-547-2536.  “To be awarded funds, families need to be residents of Perry County and demonstrate need.  The funds are distributed by PCMH paying the child’s qualifying healthcare related bills.  Most often, the majority of the funds are used to pay bills incurred from specialists and children’s hospitals, although some funds are used to cover local health related bills as well,” stated Carron.
