Memorial Donated to CP Rehab

A memorial hangs on the wall of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department at Perry County Memorial Hospital paying respect to one of the program’s participants who recently passed away.

Clyde Behrle had been active in the rehabilitation program since April 1998. He attended three times a week and enjoyed the program not only for the health benefits, but also because he enjoyed the company and support of fellow patients and the staff.

“He provided a lot of encouragement to the newcomers,” said Betty Yount, Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. “A lot of times people enjoy their time here not just for the physical benefit, but for the emotional support, and Mr. Behrle was a very sweet, kind man.”

Sadly, Behrle passed away in February and his family wanted to make a contribution to the program he loved. They asked that the memorials received be used to purchase something that could be utilized by his fellow rehab participants. A wall mounted digital scale with a height measurement bar and BMI calculator was purchased with the donation made on behalf of the Behrle family.

“We appreciate the donation; the equipment will be used daily by our participants. It’s more than just rehab, it’s a little community here and Mr. Behrle will be missed,” Yount said.
